Look Around!

When you are unshakably committed to God, God will be unwaveringly committed to you, fight for you, defend you and be your advocate at all times. I pray that the grace for commitment comes upon you and may you enjoy all the blessings that come with God’s mercy, love, deliverance, salvation, promotion and divine establishment as you commit your ways to Him in Jesus name!

A songwriter indicated that: As the deer pants for the water brooks so my heart pants after you, you alone are my heart’s desire and I come to worship you…. When you pant, seek after God, for the living God as man needs water you are on your way to rest. To get there you need to look around.

5 Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” 6 He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again. 1 Kings 19

Elijah was woken up by an angel who tapped him and said to him to wake up, eat and drink. We had previously seen that Elijah needed sleep; food and water as he was sleep deprived, hungry and thirsty. Lack of a combination of these three essentials can easily derail a person. Global insomnia statistics reveal sleeplessness affect 45% of the world's population. In fact lack of only one has robbed many of their glorious destinies and even resulted to death. When he woke up, the first thing he did was to look around. Why? A sleep deprived person easily makes mistakes, may be uncoordinated like a person who is drunk. Taking decisions in this state or when tired is asking for trouble. Statistics indicate many people, including pastors, resign on a Monday after a tough weekend. Don’t, rather sleep – take a rest.

At least one out of every five people in the world does not have access to safe drinking water. The United Nations estimate that a child dies every 15 seconds from water related diseases. Water is so vital to sustenance because your body needs water. Over 50% of your body and blood is made up of water. A major percentage of your brain is also made up of water. Water is a sine qua non, an essential to life. Elijah was thirsty. Are you thirsty for God?

Statistics also indicate that over 842 million people in the world do not have enough food to eat. People die from being malnourished. Are you malnourished in your heavenly diet of the Word of God?

When you are challenged by problems within and without: at home, in relationships, at work, health issues and so on; and you are just tired, almost giving up, you need to sleep and then look around. We have previously defined how to sleep in God.
•When you are physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually tired lie down and sleep.
•Do not struggle or take important decisions at that time
•When you come to the end of your rope, sleep.
•What does it mean to sleep?
•Keep the communication lines open: especially with God
•Eat and drink: God sent food instead of death. Feed on the word of God according to John 6:48 – 57 and John 1:1, 14;
•Accept heaven’s prescription
•Rest in Him. See Hebrews 4:1, 5-6 and 9-11 God expects you to be victorious whether asleep or awake. For some people, when they lose a battle in the dream, while sleeping, they experience the loss or failure manifested in real life, in the physical when they are awake. When some people have a particular type of dream; things go from good to bad or bad to worse. An individual once came for prayer after discovering that after having a particular dream, he would not be employed even after going through all interviews successfully. Even in situations where he becomes employed and has that dream, he would be fired. Thank God, God intervened and he was set free. When you sleep, God expects you to have victory in all situations. See `Dream Liftings!` under the devotional section of the website.

When you look around - assessing your situation in God and calling on God - God will provide:
•A shelter from the storm
•A shadow from the heat
•Strength and provision

In Isaiah 25:3-4, after praising God in verse 1, the prophet declared that his God, your God will be your strength, take you from a poor position to a better state, save you from stress and extended stress – distress and be your refuge, because His name is a strong tower for you. Verse 4 also declares that as you command strangers - agents of darkness to leave you alone, their noise, their activities will be eliminated from your life in Jesus name.

The Psalmist in Psalm 18:44-45 also stated that as you speak to strangers in your body, home, finances, work etc, they are bound to listen to you and obey you. Strangers could be sickness, lack, problems at work etc; their negative actions will be eliminated from your life and destiny in Jesus name! As you trust in God without wavering or doubting, He will grant you peace from anxiety and settle you in Jesus name! (Isaiah 26:3).

From 1 Samuel 30: 1-6, we see that whatever you have lost will be recovered in Jesus name. You will not only catch up and defeat your adversary, but you will take back everything you have lost in Jesus mighty name!

Note that you have in you what it takes to succeed as you walk with God.

“What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

No matter what you are going through, keep on pressing forward and you will prevail in Jesus mighty name!

“When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” – Henry Ford

Don’t worry, your God will surely come and save you.

say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you." (Isaiah 35:4)

He will carry you and sustain you, in Jesus mighty name! Amen! and Amen!! and Amen!!!

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. (Isaiah 46:4)
